Police extort money from foreigner for bogus reason.

It is the most dangerous time of the year on the roads, the deadly week. Instead of applying the law and going after the potentially dangerous people, police continue harassing foreigners and extort their money. It happened to me today. Here is the story. I was fined 1000 baht for passing at a red light while I was actually parked on the sideway and didn’t passed the red light at all! The police chased me and ordered me to stop in the middle of the fast line.
(note that this police officer does not have an helmet on, is driving a non registered bike, and quickly put his glasses when he sees that I am filming).

  1. Pig did not have a helmet either.

  2. Just pay a contribution and drive on. It has always been that way and it always will be.

  3. Your time should’nt be worthfull to waste your time doing this video for probably 400 thb fine

  4. Me too tired only stop foreign for money and other?

  5. Yesterday in the cross traffic light red for turn left i stop behind me many many car knocking me want go and have police in the cross very crazy other go, me no fuck off

  6. But i think this time many farang tired of this situation

  7. Isn’t your bike parked up on a main road in the fast lane so you could film Shit?

  8. Tomorrow I wil go pay the fine and take picture. Only foreigners waiting in the queue. Thai are giving 100 baht in the pocket of the police officer when they are arrested. But they won’t let you foreigner deal that because too many of us complained about the corruption in the social medias, so now we pay the price, but Thai deal under the table.

  9. Good to see your taking action. It’s about time these guys get shamed. To much corruption there

  10. Make sure you get the officer’s number and report to the General

  11. Pretend to be deaf, smile and wait them out.

  12. I don’t disagree with you about the whole targeting Farang issue….and 1000 is unreasonable…a few 100 is OK…..but it will always be that way….they don’t care if we are tourists or not…we aren’t thai and we can pay the fines. It sucks but it is just how it is…and it is better than being in a western country with a points system where you get penalized 2kms over the speed limit and $200. Give me a 1000 baht any day.

  13. You want to make a complaint about it

  14. I was fined for a left turn that I didn’t make. I was parked at the intersection on a motorbike. My mistake was not driving away when I saw the policeman approaching.

  15. Complain as much as you like but you’re not allowed to turn left on a red light unless there’s a sign that allows you to. Thais not being fined is rather irrelevant (unless they start honking behind you).

  16. AGREE 100% – i was at Red light on 2nd Road and in front of me were 4 young Thai guys on one bike with one of them holding a bottle of whisky, I was alone, with helmet. Guess who they pulled over!! 😠😠😠😠

  17. there is no tax on red plate vehicles tho 🙂

  18. Welcome to PATTAYABA CIty

  19. Of course, not Police Officers.

  20. Its thailand just accepted it instead of whinging about it

  21. No problem like this in buriram. The police treat farangs like celebrities. Riding back from pattaya last month a checkpoint near the cambodian border I was told to pull out of the queue and carry on without even a licence check.

  22. Maybe fake policemen, it happens in Thailand 🇹🇭.

  23. Jacob S Raber your lucky they gave you your license back crazy..

  24. ก้อเขามีอาสาสำหรับช่วยไถเงินชาวเป็นกิจกรรมหลักไม่ใช่เอาไว้ช่วยเหลือประชาชน
